A three-way catalytic converter (TWC) is the most important external purification device installed in the automobile exhaust system. It can convert harmful gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emitted from the automobile exhaust into harmless carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogen through oxidation and reduction.
Meanwhile, three-way catalytic converters are currently the most widely used exhaust gas post-treatment technology in motor vehicles; The principle is that the three-way catalytic converter is installed in the exhaust pipe after the exhaust manifold and before the exhaust muffler. When the engine is working, the exhaust gas enters the three-way catalytic converter through the exhaust pipe, converting harmful substances such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides in the car exhaust system into water vapor, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen.
